Basmatna Initiative (Foster a child with your old device)

A company specialising in the recycling of electronic waste, the Basmatna Initiative is already established with two factories in Riyadh. But seeking to improve the environment around us, we have created a social and environmental initiative where we create the opportunity to “foster a child with your old device”.The unique element of this project is its simplicity. It will have hugely positive impacts on the environment, and people – all from discarded or damaged electric goods!

By providing a practical alternative to sending unwanted or damaged electronic goods to landfill, Basmatna Initiative’s “foster a child with your old device” program allows people in the private and public sector to donate what would be considered waste to support good causes. By building charitable association partnerships we are able to repair, recycle and re-gift electronic devices, where they can provide opportunity in their value – supporting charitable programs and activities such as orphanages or organizations supporting disadvantaged children.

Further objectives of the initiative is to protect the environment from improper methods of handling electronic waste (burying or burning), to make it easier for people to donate damaged electronic devices instead of throwing them away, to create job opportunities for Saudis (particularly widows and orphans benefiting from the partners of the initiative), and to provide a safe, secure and appropriate process for the disposal of technology containing sensitive information, while doing our part to support the national economy.

Farmers Shop

Local farmers face a huge challenge in distributing their products. These reasons can include being too busy during the harvest to go to the central markets to sell their products, poor knowledge of current market prices, fear of their products turning bad before they can be sold, difficulty accessing the central markets particularly in big cities, and the inability to provide extra manpower due to their high cost. These challenges will often cause farmers to sell their products to the first buyer at any price. These issues may be a reason why some are reluctant to enter agriculture and why the standard of living for many farmers and their families has deteriorated.

At the same time, many consumers are affected by the high prices of agricultural products due to the number of intermediaries between farmers and consumers. On average there are between five and seven intermediaries involved in local products and even more for imported products.

Through the website, we can reduce the number of intermediaries between farmer and consumer by more than half, or even sell products directly from farmer to customer. The benefits of this are an increase in the income of the farmer, improve the quality of products as they enter the market and save the consumer money by offering lower prices and fresher products.

Mojtm3 Ta2

mojtm3ta2.com

An electronic purchasing platform Mojtm3 Ta2 aims to empower young entrepreneurs and productive families by helping to sell their products in bulk and in advance. This process is known as “Forward Selling”.Mojtm3 Ta2 will work by connecting businesses to collectives of people, all of whom declare an interest in purchasing the same product, incentivizing them to pay in advance of the product being manufactured or harvested.

This is to be executed through creating an online campaign (page/webstore) which is open for a clearly defined period of time. During this time, business can use the www.mojtm3ta2.com platform to advertise and market their products and set parameters such as financial goals or number of customers interested. The potential buyer can then register their interest in purchasing the product on the website. When the campaign ends and achieves its objective, the platform will complete the purchases electronically, like any traditional electronic store.

Once the purchase is made, the buyer then takes delivery of their purchases within agreed upon time, which is stated in the campaign details. All of this is done in compliance with the existing procedures and policies that are stated on the platform that guarantee the rights of all parties and in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom and Islamic Sharia.

This system provides the seller an excellent income, allowing them to create a project from scratch, develop and capitalize on existing projects or increase productivity and employ more Saudis and others. Our customers will not only benefit from marketing their projects during the campaign period, but will also be able to obtain a list of potential customers for the project and learn about how best to supply the market.

Etqan and Ekhteyar (Mastery and Selection) Institution

Through extensive research, we have found a lack of health awareness in the beauty industry. This often leads to poor quality services and public health hazards. We have sought an appropriate and practical solution to the basic problems which appear in women’s salons, namely staff being unable to properly process cosmetic tools after each customer due to the lack of time, lack of knowledge of medical conditions associated with poor cleanliness and the unavailability of costly the internationally-recognised tools and equipment. Inadequate development of health services leads to the spread of infection of fungi and viruses between customers and absence of control of accountability of those in charge. We believe that educating the largest part of society about the potential risks in a women’s enterprise is a first step towards change. In 2014 Saudi Arabia began treating and regulating women’s salons in the same way as other health facilities in terms of standards of hygiene. Solving this issue would be achieved by creating specialised sterilisation laboratories for cosmetic tools. By doing so, we will achieve our health objectives of reducing medical costs, increasing productivity and advancing current services.
